Getting to Nozawa Onsen

The Easiest way to get to Nozawa Onsen is with a direct bus from Tokyo using the Snow Shuttle bus service.

The bus service includes pick up and drop of at Narita and Haneda airports and Shinjuku Bus Terminal (Tokyo) as well as ski resort transfers.

If you are flying to Narita/Haneda and arriving at night, you don't need to stay the night in Tokyo. The Snow Shuttle will drop you at our front door so you can ski the following day.

Make sure you book early to avoid any disappointment, the shuttle fills up quickly.

Train tickets are only available for purchase when you arrive to Japan, either at the Airport or from a train station. Train tickets are not available online or in Nozawa Onsen.

Trains From TOKYO

From Narita Airport

It takes approximately 4 hours to get from Narita Airport to Nozawa Onsen by train. You can purchase your train ticket from Narita Airport right through to Iiyama station (station closest to Nozawa Onsen). You can buy round trip tickets.

1. Take the Narita Express (NEX) train from the Airport to Tokyo Station.
2. Change to Shinkansen (Bullet train) from Tokyo Station to Iiyama Station.
3. Change to the Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama Station to Nozawa Onsen (cash only).
4. Exit the bus at the NAKAO bus stop in Nozawa Onsen for Nozawa Peaks guesthouse (walking directions are written below).

Total journey price: 12,350 yen (approx).

The Narita Express train departs approximately every 30 minutes from 7:44am - 21:44.

From Haneda Airport

It takes about 3 1/2 hours to get from Haneda Airport to Nozawa Onsen by train/monorail.

1. Take the Monorail from the Airport to Hamamatsucho station.
2. Change to the JR Yamanote subway line to Tokyo Station.
3. Change to the Shinkansen (Bullet train) from Tokyo Station to Iiyama Station.
4. Change to the Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama Station to Nozawa Onsen (cash only).
5. Exit the bus at the NAKAO bus stop in Nozawa Onsen for Nozawa Peaks Hotel (walking directions are written below).

Total journey price: 10,000 yen (approx).

From Tokyo

It takes 2 hours from Tokyo Station to Nozawa Onsen.

1. Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station to Iiyama Station.
2. Change to the Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama Station to Nozawa Onsen (cash only).
3. Exit the bus at the NAKAO bus stop in Nozawa Onsen for Nozawa Peaks Hotel (walking directions are written below).

Total cost: 9,330 yen (approx)

Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama station to Nozawa Peaks

1. Take the Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama train station to the Nakao bus stop in Nozawa Onsen. Please press the stop button on the bus as the screen on the bus shows 'Nakao' as the next stop.
2. Continue walking in the same direction as the bus is heading (up the road, 7 minutes, 550 meters).
3. Continue Walking past the ENEOS petrol station.
4. On the corner on the right side of the street you will see 'Playce' restaurant. turn right and walk up this street.
5. Nozawa Peaks is located on the second street to the left directly after Tonkichi Okonomiyaki restaurant.

If you miss Nakao bus stop, 'Shinden' is next stop and is almost the same walking distance. If you miss both stops, the final stop is the 'Chuo terminal' which is also within 10 minute walking distance of Nozawa Peaks. Everything is Nozawa Onsen is within walking distance.

Trains From KANSAI AIRPORT and OSAKA/KYOTO

From Kansai Airport (KIX)

It takes 5 hours and 20 minutes from Kansai International airport to Nozawa Onsen by train.

1. Take the Haruka Airport express train to Shin-Osaka Station.
2. Change to the Thunderbird express train to Kanazawa Station.
3. Change to the Hokuriku bullet train to Iiyama Station.
4. Change to the Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama Station to Nozawa Onsen (cash only).
5. Exit the bus at the NAKAO bus stop in Nozawa Onsen for Nozawa Peaks Hotel.

Total journey price: 16,720 yen (approx).

From Kyoto

It takes 4 hours to get from Kyoto Station to Nozawa Onsen by train.

1. Take the Thunderbird express train from Kyoto Station to Kanazawa Station.
2. Change to the Hokuriku bullet train to Iiyama station.
3. Change to the Nozawa Onsen Liner bus from Iiyama Station to Nozawa Onsen (cash only).
4. Exit the bus at the NAKAO bus stop in Nozawa Onsen for Nozawa Peaks Hotel

If you are departing Nozawa Onsen at peak times such as Fridays, Sundays, or Public Holidays, and want to guarantee reserved seats, we recommend to purchase your return/onward tickets at the same time as your original ticket. Train tickets are only available for purchase when you arrive to Japan, either at the Airport or from a train station. Train tickets are not available online or in Nozawa Onsen.
